Kernel grades

S0 Kernel Style 0Largest whole kernels. More than 95% whole kernels, over 20 mm. The highest-priced premium grade. 1S Kernel Style 1SSmall whole kernels, approximately 13–18 mm. Whole kernels normally make up at least 90% of the lot. 1M Kernel Style 1MWhole kernels in the medium size range. 1L Kernel Style 1LLarge whole kernels in the upper Style 1 size range, commonly used for premium retail packing. C1 Kernel Commercials 1Commercial kernel grade allowing variations in colour and appearance. Suitable for roasting, snacks, chocolate and further food processing. C2 Kernel Commercials 2Lower commercial grade with more visual defects and non-uniform kernels. Commonly used for pieces, pastes, fillings and other food ingredients. 4S Kernel Style 4SSmall kernel halves, approximately 10–14 mm. Used in bakery products, ice cream, chocolate and snack bars. 4L Kernel Style 4LLarge kernel halves over 13 mm. Suitable for chocolate, confectionery and decorative dessert applications. S5 Kernel Style 5Large kernel pieces, approximately 8–12 mm. Used for cookies, granola, ice cream and confectionery. 6–7 Kernel Style 6–7Small kernel pieces, approximately 3–9 mm. Used in fillings, creams, chocolate masses, pastes and industrial food processing.

In-shell formats

20–22 Precrack — Inshell 20–22 mmMacadamia in shell, 20–22 mm diameter, with a factory-made slit. Opens with a special metal key. >22 Precrack — Inshell >22 mmLarge macadamia in shell, over 22 mm diameter, with a factory-made slit. Commonly used for premium retail packing and gift sets.
